Rally Italia Sardegna is ready to kick off

Italian round of World Rally Championship will start at 17:00hrs from the Alghero seafront. SS1 “Ittiri Arena Show” will follow at 18:00hrs. From Friday to Sunday the remaining 19 stages on the demanding dusty roads of the North-West of Sardinia

 After today's recce and autograph session, Rally Italia Sardegna is ready to kick off. On Thurday, June 7 at 8:00hrs the 3.51 kilometres shakedown will open the event near Olmedo. Italian round of the World Rally Championship will officially start at 17:00 from the Alghero seafront. Then, SS1 “Ittiri Arena Show” will follow at 18:00hrs on live TV on FOX Sports and the national channel RAI Sport. The opening stage had great success registering sold out of Gold Pass Premium tickets. First day of the rally will end at 19:00hrs in Alghero with the Parc Fermé for the night.

Great fights are expected in the seventh round of WRC. Ott Tanak, that in Sardinia won his first WRC event in 2017, this year will race for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team on the Yaris WRC. From the top of the current WRC standings Thierry Neuville comes to Italy on the Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT i20 Coupè WRC again, while five time world champion Sebastien Ogier is behind him at the wheel of the M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC. Among the stars will be also Jari-Matti Latvala, winner in 2009, and his fellow countryman Esapekka Lappi with the other two Toyota Yaris WRC. Expectations are rising in the Citroen Total Abu Dhabi WRT, that will line up Craig Breen and Mads Otsberg on their C3 WRC, while Andreas Mikkelsen and Hayden Paddon at Hyundai and Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen at M-Sport Ford will complete the line up of the two official teams. Twelve crews have registered in the WRC2 and the entry is boosted by the appearance of triple european rally champion Kajetan Kajetanowicz. The WRC3 for two-wheel drive cars has four registration.
