Nielsen aiming to end 2020 on a high note

The European sportscar season comes to a close this weekend with the 4 Hours of Portimão, lending another chance of a trophy (or four) for Nielsen Racing after a difficult 2020 campaign. Nielsen will field two Duqueine D08s in the Michelin Le Mans Cup Portimão Round, due to travel restrictions between the UK and Portugal eliminating one car, with both crews aiming to end the year on the podium.

It's game on in the European Le Mans Series between the #7 and #10 sides of the garage, even in points albeit with very different approaches to the competition. Asian LMP3 Champions Colin Noble and Tony Wells have faced a frustrating campaign plagued by cruel luck, masking chances to fight for wins in all but one round. The North American triplet of Rob Hodes, Charles Crews and Garett Grist meanwhile has progressively improved throughout the season and are now hungry for glory and champagne at the final flag.

Colin Noble, driver in the #7 Duqueine M30-D08

"We were quite unlucky in Monza, we had a very good pace in both races but were just unfortunate in how it turned out, we could have had a good result but now we're looking forward to Portimão, hopefully, our luck will turn. It will be good to go flat out through the last turn, it's been resurfaced and most of the bumps are gone now."
