GT Sport today announced an updated 2020 season calendar of its GT Cup Open Europe, following the latest developments on the Covid-19 pandemic effects and the progressive easing of restrictions all over Europe.

GT Sport is currently working with the relevant circuits and national health authorities to finalize the safety protocols (rules, checks, formalities, etc) that will apply at each event and are aimed at ensuring safety of drivers, teams and other personnel taking part. We will duly inform all parties concerned in the forthcoming weeks.
Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport:
“As the situation resulting from the Covid-19 crisis evolves, we are taking steps to ensure that we have a smooth, practical and attractive 2020 season. We are today confirming one event less for the GT Cup Open Europe, which will include five events, and a switch between the Red Bull Ring and Hungaroring rounds, with the season starting on 11-12 July in Hungary. This will allow contenders to be in action earlier.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, as gradual de-confinement is starting all over Europe, and are working on the protocols that will have to be followed strictly at each event. The aim is to ensure that we are ready to return to racing soon, safely and with intact passion.”
