Oman Racing with TF Sport heads to Barcelona aiming for Blancpain GT Series title success

The final round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup takes place this coming weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with Oman Racing with TF Sport in a strong position both in the Pro-Am drivers’ standings and teams’ standings with a 16 and 14 point margin respectively.

It’s been an impressive campaign from the team and drivers Ahmad Al Harthy, Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood in the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3, with podiums at every round, whilst also securing a crucial and memorable win last time out at the 24 Hours of Spa.

Even with the points advantage, the team is taking no chances and approach the season finale just like any other race and aim to add to their tally of pole positions (all but Spa) and podiums; whilst keeping a watchful eye on its rivals at AF Course and RAM Racing.

As part of the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona, the action gets underway Friday with testing and then qualifying Saturday and the three-hour race Sunday at 15.00 CEST.
Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“We’re excited to get back to Blancpain, obviously we lead the championship but it’s a long way from finished despite the points advantage.  We aim to treat it like another race and go step by step through the weekend and achieve the best result possible.”

Amad Al Harthy
“It’s been a bit of a break but now I’m looking forward to getting back to racing in Barcelona. We have a job to get done and we’re 100 percent focused. We have to treat it like any other race weekend and we’re really hoping for a good result to end the season with!”

Salih Yoluc
“We have one aim this weekend and we’re really looking forward to the final Blancpain race of the year. The win at Spa was something special for us all and obviously we aim to win both the race and the championship.”
Charlie Eastwood
“We’re going into the race weekend with every intention of winning the championship regardless of the race result. We have a nice margin in terms of points, but anything can happen in Blancpain racing as we see race in, race out. TF Sport have just won two drivers’ titles in the British GT Championship, so hopefully we can make it a triple-crown to lock out the SRO championships. Really looking forward to it.”
