TF Sport head stateside as the WEC Super Season resumes at Sebring

Round six of the FIA World Endurance Championship takes place this week (13 – 15 March) at Sebring International Raceway in Florida and for TF Sport, the resumption of the Super Season is most welcome as the team aims for a fourth podium position in what has been a successful campaign to date.

It’s the first time competing on US soil and the team has spent two days testing at the venue last weekend, where they had the opportunity to get to grips with the unique nature of the 17-turn, 6.019km circuit.

Salih Yoluc, Charlie Eastwood and Jonny Adam return for the fourth time together in the #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE and despite a difficult race last time out in China, the British-based squad are third in the championship and head to Sebring full of confidence.

With additional points on offer for what is an eight-hour 1000-mile race, a maiden victory is long overdue, and they expect to close the 26-point deficit to the GTE Pro-Am leaders ahead of the final two rounds at Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director
“This is a new adventure for TF Sport, our first time in the US and we’re really looking forward to the event. It’s an eight-hour race and we’re well-prepared and really hope that we can at least claim another podium position. Saying that, there are 32 points available for the victory… Winning is never easy but that remains our goal for each of the final three rounds as we remain firmly in contention for the Pro-Am title.”
Salih Yoluc
“We're really hungry for a good result in Sebring. We had some general problems with the car and grip in China which compromised our race and result. I’m sure this won’t be an issue at Sebring, so we are raring to go and more than ready to take our first WEC victory.”

Charlie Eastwood
“It’s my first time competing at Sebring and I’ve been told I need a gum shield and rib protector! It’s a bumpy track and also one of the best-known circuits in the world – one for the bucket list - so we hope to hit the ground running. Our three second positions so far could have all been wins, so we’ve been on the cusp and we need to make sure that in the last three rounds we’re right up there. The competition is tough, but we have one, if not the strongest line-up, so if we piece everything together, we can get the win.”

Jonny Adam
“I think we are all excited to be heading to Sebring for the next round of WEC. The championship is still close and good points are on offer, so we need as a team to try score big in America. It’s an awesome circuit, one of my favourites, and I think the TF Sport prepared Aston Martin GTE will be strong there.”
