Nicki Thiim to return for second season of British GT with TF Sport

TF Sport are pleased to announce Nicki Thiim’s return to the British GT Championship for a second successive season alongside Mark Farmer in the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

Graham Davidson and three-time Champion Jonny Adam have already been confirmed in the sister car in what is a formidable driver line-up.

Nicki ended his 2018 campaign with celebratory burnouts having taken the chequered flag first at Donington Park and returns to the Championship more than keen to add to his impressive record in the series to date.

Indeed, his first season alongside Mark saw him secure six podiums from the nine rounds, including victories at Snetterton and Silverstone, helping TF Sport to the teams’ title. Amongst his numerous accolades in 2018, the Allan Simonsen Award was especially poignant for the Dane.

In addition to his programme with the team last year, the factory Aston Martin racer previously competed with TF Sport in the European Le Mans Series in 2017 and currently races with Aston Martin Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, chasing his second victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The announcement finalises TF Sport’s four car assault on the British GT Championship.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Director

“We’re grateful to Aston Martin Racing and it’s great to have Nicki back with us this year. His drive to win is something special and some of his races last year - even when he didn’t win – were sensational. He and Mark make a fantastic pairing alongside Graham and Jonny and combined with the new Vantage, we have very clear championship expectations.”
Nicki Thiim

“I’m looking forward to the coming season with the new Aston Martin. It's really going to be amazing driving the new GT3 around the great British tracks - some of them are now may favourites - old-school, like Oulton Park, so I’ll really enjoy that.

“The first year, everything was new as I didn’t know my teammate Mark or the UK tracks, so we have a big advantage now going into the second season. We have a better understanding as to what to expect - pushing the right buttons - and so the aim is to perform better than last year and go for the championship."
Mark Farmer

"Nicki and I have unfinished business in the British GT Championship. I am delighted that he is coming back to help finish it!"
