Oman Racing with TF Sport to debut new Aston Martin GT3 at Gulf 12 Hours
Oman Racing with TF Sport confirms that it will compete in the Pro class of the Gulf 12 Hours at Abu Dhabi and will field the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 at the traditional end of year event.
With strong ties to Aston Martin Lagonda, Oman Racing with TF Sport are proud to become one of the first customer teams to compete with the new GT3 and aim to build on its strong showing at Yas Marina Circuit in 2017, where the team secured a strong second position in the Pro-Am class. This year the team are stepping up and will be going for the overall victory with Ahmad Al Harthy, Jonny Adam and Darren Turner.
Following a season of Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup racing, Ahmad returns to the team alongside the two factory Aston Martin Racing drivers. Jonny is no stranger to the team as he competes with TF Sport in the FIA World Endurance Championship and has secured two runner-up positions in his two starts to date.
Three-time Le Mans winner Darren meanwhile joins the team having started the World Endurance Championship with Aston Martin Racing, competing this year at Circuit de la Sarthe with TF Sport British GT racers Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen. Significantly, Darren already has first-hand experience of racing the new car as he competed in the VLN Endurance Series with Aston Martin Racing recently.
The event gets underway with Thursday practice on 13 December with qualifying on the Saturday for all three drivers. The two-part race takes place Sunday 15 December from 09.00 local time.
