Salih Yoluc looks forward to yet further Silverstone success

Having taken victory in International GT Open, European Le Mans Series and most recently the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, Salih Yoluc is chasing his fourth straight victory at Silverstone as he gets set for the third round of the 2018 FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season.

Salih returns to TF Sport next weekend (18 – 19 August) seeking his second podium of the WEC season. He joins Charlie Eastwood and Jonny Adam in the #90 Aston Martin Vantage GTE looking to add to the 18 points claimed at the season opener at Spa-Francorchamps.

Most recently, Salih took part in the 24 Hours of Spa, leading the Pro-Am class with ease before an incident cost the RAM Racing team any chance of securing the win. Attention now firmly on Silverstone, Salih is looking forward to the challenge.

Q: Salih, you have an impressive record at the Silverstone circuit with three wins from your last three starts… Is this a circuit you particularly enjoy?

"I like the circuit obviously, as it's one of the tracks I've driven the most, so that means it's one of the tracks I know the best and that can bring strong performances as we’ve seen already this year."

Q: You had a strong start at Spa-Francorchamps, what are your expectations for Silverstone having tested here recently?

“Many of our championship rivals tested here, so we are not really ahead of anyone in terms of on-track mileage. We have a strong car, strong team but we do have some catching up to do after the unfortunate DNF in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The goal at Silverstone is to get the maximum points possible.”

Q: How do you prepare for WEC events, does it differ at all from Spa 24?

“It’s not really any different to any other race in terms of preparation. I’ve been doing some simulator work, watching onboard footage and working on data with the team and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Practice gets underway from 12:15 on Friday with qualifying taking place at 12:00 Saturday. The six-hour race starts at the same time Sunday.
